Sweyne started with a question I kept asking myself: why does rest have to look like something?
Every version of sleepwear I found was either selling beauty - silk that photographs well, styled for someone to see - or selling optimization - sleep as a number to improve, a score to beat. Neither one felt like actual rest. Both still asked something of me, even at the end of the day, even when the day was supposed to be over.
Sweyne is what I wished existed instead: something made with real care, that doesn't ask you to perform comfort, track it, or explain it to anyone. Not even to yourself.
It's being built slowly and by hand right now - fabric sourced with care, small batches, decisions made one at a time instead of rushed. That's deliberate. A brand about unhurried rest should probably be built the same way.
